A personal research project that became an ecosystem.
More than twenty years ago, I started recording my dreams. At first, it was a simple practice: improving dream recall, exploring lucid dreaming, and understanding my own experiences during sleep.
Over time, something unexpected happened. The dream journal became more than a collection of individual memories. Recurring places appeared. Symbols returned in different contexts. Themes evolved. Connections emerged across years.
I wanted to explore these patterns, but existing tools treated dreams as isolated entries — something to record, interpret once, and leave behind. I was looking for something different: not a system that tells me what my dreams mean, but one that helps me observe how meaning emerges over time.
Sentria grew from that question.
What Is Sentria?
Sentria is an evolving ecosystem of interconnected tools designed for exploring dreams, lucid dreaming, symbolic continuity, and long-term inner observation.
Rather than functioning as a single monolithic platform, Sentria is built as a collection of independent but gradually connected systems — each focused on a different aspect of dream exploration, reflection, continuity, and conscious experience.
At its core, the ecosystem is designed around reflection, continuity, symbolic exploration, local ownership, and evolving inner cartography — not around productivity metrics, social features, or definitive answers about what a symbol "really" means.
A Different Approach to Dream Exploration
Most dream tools treat dreams as isolated entries: individual experiences written down, briefly interpreted, and eventually forgotten. Sentria approaches dreams differently.
The ecosystem is built around the idea that dreams often form recurring structures, emotional geographies, symbolic continuities, evolving environments, persistent themes, and long-term experiential patterns. Over time, these patterns can begin to resemble an evolving inner landscape rather than a disconnected archive of entries.
Sentria was created to support the exploration of that continuity.
Modular by Design
Every major part of Sentria is developed as an independent module with its own infrastructure, philosophy, and workflow. This modular approach allows experimentation, flexibility, local-first architectures, independent evolution of systems, and reduced coupling between applications.
Rather than forcing everything into a single platform, Sentria gradually connects systems through shared semantic layers and continuity structures. This makes the ecosystem more adaptable, more privacy-friendly, more resilient, and better suited for long-term evolution.
Core Areas of the Ecosystem
The Sentria ecosystem currently includes systems focused on dream journaling, lucid dreaming practice, symbolic interpretation, continuity mapping, reflective analytics, spatial dream cartography, AI-assisted reflection, longitudinal pattern observation, and atmospheric audio environments. Each module serves a different role while contributing to a broader reflective framework.
Conscious Flow
A long-form reflective journal documenting over two decades of personal exploration into dreams, lucid dreaming, consciousness, symbolic experience, and inner observation. Conscious Flow functions as philosophical foundation, narrative layer, research archive, and reflective companion to the ecosystem.
Somnia
A local-first dream journaling and analytics system designed for long-term archival, continuity tracking, and detailed personal exploration. Focused on privacy, ownership, continuity, reflective analytics, and structured dream preservation.
Orbis
A spatial continuity system that transforms recurring dream environments into interconnected symbolic landscapes and evolving inner geography. Orbis explores the idea that recurring dream spaces can gradually form persistent experiential worlds across time.
Oneiro
A lightweight progressive web app for dream journaling and AI-assisted reflection using multiple interpretive perspectives. Designed for accessibility, low-friction capture, reflective exploration, and personal symbolic inquiry.
Oneiro Web
A public-facing symbolic exploration platform focused on common dream motifs, reflective interpretation, and accessible dream inquiry. Acts as an entry point into the wider ecosystem.
Limina
A minimalist reflective audio environment for sleep preparation, hypnagogic transition, and reflective focus — supporting lucid dreaming practice and dream recall. Rather than music or recorded meditation tracks, Limina offers seven generative soundscapes — binaural beats, layered ambient textures, filtered noise — rendered in real time directly in the browser, with no recorded audio files.
It runs as a progressive web app: no ads, no tracking, a bilingual interface, and support for background playback with the screen locked. Designed to feel calm, immersive, introspective, and non-pseudoscientific.
Local-First and Privacy-Oriented
A major philosophical foundation of Sentria is the idea that deeply personal material should remain under user control whenever possible. Many systems within the ecosystem are therefore designed around local-first principles, offline capability, user-controlled storage, optional cloud AI, and modular interoperability.
Sentria intentionally avoids building centralized surveillance-style psychological systems. The ecosystem is designed to support reflection without demanding surrender of personal archives or interpretive autonomy.
AI as Reflective Assistance — Not Authority
Several Sentria systems use AI-assisted reflection and semantic analysis. However, AI within the ecosystem is intentionally positioned as exploratory, assistive, reflective, and non-authoritarian.
The system does not attempt to define objective symbolic truth, diagnose users, replace human interpretation, or simulate spiritual authority. Instead, AI is treated as a tool for surfacing patterns, generating perspectives, supporting reflection, organizing continuity, and exploring symbolic relationships. Interpretive authority always remains with the user.
Symbolic Continuity and Inner Cartography
One of the long-term directions of Sentria is the exploration of symbolic continuity across large dream archives. Rather than viewing dreams as isolated fragments, the ecosystem increasingly explores how recurring places, atmospheres, emotional currents, entities, motifs, and transitions may gradually form evolving structures of continuity.
This has led to the emergence of ideas such as dream cartography, emotional geography, continuity layers, symbolic ecosystems, and longitudinal dream-world mapping. These ideas are still experimental and intentionally open-ended.
A Slow System
Sentria is intentionally designed as a slower, more reflective ecosystem. It is not optimized for endless engagement, dopamine loops, algorithmic feeds, or rapid consumption.
Instead, the ecosystem encourages observation, reflection, continuity, revisiting, and the gradual emergence of patterns over time. Many of the most meaningful structures only appear across months or years of exploration.
Ongoing Evolution
Sentria is still evolving. Many systems are experimental, modular, or actively developing. New layers continue to emerge around continuity, audio environments, symbolic mapping, reflective interfaces, and longitudinal memory systems.
The ecosystem is being built gradually, with a strong focus on flexibility, psychological safety, modularity, privacy, and long-term sustainability.
Sentria Lab
Some parts of Sentria are stable tools used in everyday practice. Others are experiments — early explorations of ideas that may eventually become mature systems, or may not survive in their current form at all.
The Sentria Lab is where these experiments live: prototypes, research tools, semantic experiments, and new approaches to exploring long-term dream archives. Some Lab experiments may become future Sentria systems. Others exist simply to explore a question.
One current Lab exploration, Loom, is an evolving semantic memory system that gradually connects dreams, symbols, and locations across time — surfacing patterns rather than imposing meaning on them.
Support the Project
Sentria is an independent project, developed gradually through research, experimentation, and continuous refinement. The core idea is simple: personal dream archives should remain personal, and tools for exploring them should respect user ownership, privacy, and autonomy.
If Sentria has helped you explore your dreams, discover patterns, or simply maintain a more conscious relationship with your inner world, you can support its continued development. Your support helps fund infrastructure, experiments, and future tools — while keeping Sentria independent.
In Essence
Sentria is an evolving ecosystem for reflective dream exploration and symbolic continuity — a collection of interconnected tools designed to support long-term observation of dreams, lucid awareness, recurring patterns, and the gradual emergence of inner cartography across time.
